Euro League Baseball coming up 2016

The European Association of Professional Baseball (EAPB) was founded in May 2015 by some of the strongest teams in Europe. The EAPB aims to start and operate Euro League Baseball in 2016, the first Professional Baseball League in Europe with teams from the Netherlands, Italy, France, Germany and Czech Republic.

The  first Winter Meeting held on Friday October 23, resulted in a decision to actually start Euro League Baseball in 2016. The decision was taken after discussions about the size and the length of the schedule. The meeting concluded with the plan to shorten the season to 3 or 4 months and to limit the number of games to 18, having weekly 2-game series on Monday and Tuesday or Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Four Stages of Learning – which stage are you?

Ask yourself: Which stage are you?

  1. Unconscious incompetence
    The umpire does not understand or know how to do something and does not necessarily recognize the deficit. With other words: He is horseshit and even does not know it. He must recognize his own incompetence, and the value of the new skill, before moving on to the next stage. The length of time an umpire spends in this stage depends on the strength of the stimulus to learn.
  2. Conscious incompetence
    Though the umpire does not understand or know how to do something, he does recognize the deficit, as well as the value of a new skill in addressing the deficit. Or to say: He is still horseshit but now he knows it and looks for help. The making of mistakes can be integral to the learning process at this stage...

JEEC 2016 in the Netherlands!

We are proud to announce that the Jim Evans European Classic will be held in Almere/NED in Kooperation with the Dutch Baseball Federation KNBSB. The date is already fixed: April 3-9, 2016, and is one day longer as usual.

Official Baseball Rules 2015

As already announced the Rulebook 2015 was revised completely. Finally the book is available now!

Format includes a new never been seen before renumbering of all of the original baseball rules. This will be the only edition with both the new numbering system and the old rule book system in one. Both books are bound together for easy reference.

MLB Academies Spring Tournament 2015

The MLB Academies Spring Tournament 2015 took place from April 5-11 in Sant Boi / Barcelona. Two international umpires were invited by CEB: Roy van der Wateringen / NED and Sascha Pammesberger / AUT. Together with a couple of local Spanish colleagues 19 games have been covered in 2-umpire-system.

For the umpires it was a perfect pre-season practice so they get well prepared into their national leagues which will start the upcoming week.

CEB umpire list for 2015 released

The Conferderation of European Baseball released an umpire list for the upcoming 2015 season. There are 5 categories of umpires: AAA, AA, A, N and new umpires. You may download the complete list here.

AAA   experience in CEB events for at least two years and an average uc points
AA     experience in CEB events for at least two years and an average uc points
A       nominated (new) international umpires

The events you can be invited:

AAA   all CEB events
AA     all CEB events exclusive Euro Cup, Final 4 and European Championships Seniors
A       all CEB events exclusive Euro Cup, Final 4 and European Championships Seniors

The list contains 124 umpires in total: 17 AAA, 24 AA, 48 A, 23 N and 12 new ones.
